you know what, i can't quite rem what i've done at ooty according to days and dates anymore
)):
all those memories are so important to me.

anw, handball match tonight. wish us all the best.

after i came back from india and bangkok i went down for my trainings after months.
i could so feel the repercussions of all my holidays - the inability to play handball and disappointing everyone.
it was so hard not to blame myself for not being able to play the game. to ultimately disappoint others.

it was a dilemna in me. did i set my priorities right?
at that time, i learnt to rationalise and chuck the dilemna aside.

last week, i went down for the last training before today's match. it was a federation training. so other hall's handballers were around. as usual, i were still a noob to the game. i commit a foul and necked the other opponent. i can still hear (even now) my teammate shouting, 'bu yao' (NO in chinese) to me.

this question on my priorities popped up again.
i somehow have that little regret in gng ooty. and i hate myself for that.
but guess what,
when i reached home, i received a slow mail from hong khiang.
we went aceh together for team 4 coast2coast.

inside the mail was a photograph of us at the airport with the banner. all smiles.
he said he had forgotten to pass that photo to me and thus decided to slow mail it to me.
he even wrote a post-it note on the photo (here you are, smiling!)

at the instance, i realised everything was worth it. everything.
i've made friends from everywhere. indonesians, indians and even singaporeans.
i've shared memories with them. and though we might not meet that often. we will always rem the days we have spent together.

i always thank God for giving me all these little signs to help me solve my dilemnas.

and if i get a chance to play on court today, i am gng to make sure i play well! :D

on a sidenote, i am quiting my job at the zoo.
it's hard to go. really. haha.

i just finished this korean drama. sad sonata.
SUPER SAD CAN!

OOTY CONTINUED! :D

day 3 18/12/07
it started raining non non stop. the morning was a stark contrast to the previous day's morning. low lying clouds were flooding the area, you can't even see what's 100m ahead of you.
but it's also super interesting cos' you get to walk past the clouds and feel the droplets on your face.

symrna tribe that day. which means mural painting and more painting.
went marketing with the welfare team to buy paints, brushes and everything.
lazy morning with liu hao to come up with designs for the computer centre.
and that was the start of my affinity with J.R. ((:

marketing for paint was madness.
i alws do mural paintings but i was never in charge of selecting and buying of paints
back to work after lunch and another impromptu thing popped out.
r a j wanted me to follow him to select the flooring for the computer centre.
totally uninformed. totally unawared. but just followed. TII. TINS
he brought me and beeee to some shop and alas! shopping for flooring in the rain.
it was quite an experience honestly. i never moved around on an expedition like this before.
and then we took an auto back from the city to symrna home.
the auto ride was crazy cos it felt like we have to go down to help push the auto up the slopes!

the walls were all peeling and we decided to scrape off the previous paint which proved to be a very bad move. it was physically taxing, straining and totally unproductive but it was the best method to make our murals look more even and prevent it from peeling later on.
i am very sorry to my other tribe members cos' i left them helpless in the computer room while shopping for the floorings.

worked till the sun were down and there weren't any lights.
felt like we did a lot and could finish dinner for 10 pple!

dinner was niceeeee! MEAT!
but everything was still orangey in colour.
more cauliflower. masala powder. curry.

debriefed. too cold to stargaze.

day 4 19/12/07

continued mural paintings. and more mural paintings.
early break for lunch and it wasn't ready yet so we played bluff.
i am a loser at bluff. anw, i thought the leaders think that my tribe is damnnnn slack.
work halfway and then slack.

continued mural paintings. sketchings were up. base coat were done!

dinner time. and debriefed.

still too cold to stargaze.
and still raining like there's NO TOMORROW!

it was so cold we were praying for snow but i was still secretly praying for sun

before we scraped off the peeling paint and repainted it blue.
after a hard day work!! :D
todas!!!! :D
mural painting brings the tribe together. we got more time to talk to one another. to share our experience. to sing songs. to gossip. to laugh at all MY F9 jokes.
it was nice though conflicts and displeasure may arise.
it aalways do right? but deep down, we still care for one another.
the trip just gets MORE egggg-citing! :D

damn big shot can! got m o s to send us off!

i was scolded for filming at this airport.

in the frigging coldness.

india boyfriend no. 1 :D

it's amazing how beautiful ooty is.

and not again! :D

'boyfriend number 66' mural painting

my murals and my fave man!

my fave pple. the ones i left behind in ooty.

and farewell, ooty, farewell coimbatore.

;
getting late. finally going back to church tom.
did i tell you that when i was in India, i was super encouraged by the christians there.
j.r's family. maranatha boys and pastor george's family. raj.
they are forever praying for us. for our safety. for our families.
i feel ashamed for myself as a christian.
they give thanks to so much more when they have so much lesser.
anyway, i was also super proud to be praising the same God as them, and we are one people, brothers and sisters.
it also amazes me how wonderful God is. how His word spreads through different languages and different tongues.

praise the Lord.

first love is last love is forever love.
does it still exist?

Thursday, January 10, 2008

i just have this sudden impulse to write about my ooty trip.
before everything just turns into memories and slowly into a small little chapter in my life.

day 1 16/12/07
airport. farewells. minister's arrival. photo takings and MORE phototakings.
it was at a very high morale i must say and loads of anxiety on the parents' part.
a mum actually told me to look after his son for her through the trip! (i used to be the youngest 1 year ago!)
s i l k a i r's food was the start of our indian cuisine. mutton briyani. i can still rem it so vividly. mutton on one side, rice smacked in the centre and archar at the other corner.

reached coimbatore (the nearest airport to ooty) at abt 3am sg time so it was about 12.30am over there. travelled to ooty on this bus with very narrow aisles and little space for seating area. but thank god, i joined the BSB (backseat boys) and we got to enjoy the last row with only 3 of us. :D

it was FREAKING COLD when we reached ooty but the sky was way way awesome.
the stars surrounded the entire sky painting it into a picture of wonderful surprise.
readed symrna home in the wee hours of the morning. unloaded the stuff in the frigging coldness and 2 layers of jacket which was still insufficient for me.
was allocated a room and fell asleep.

day 2 17/12/07
the first morning at symrna home was beyond words.
what you see from the doors were rows and rows of tea plantations.
cattles. small little houses and clouds after clouds.
you feel as if you were this <-> close to heaven.
took a slow walk around the home before breakfast was served (thosai)

small gathering to welcome us to ooty with carnation flower :D
orientation by the headmaster. picking of flowers which feel like paper. taking pictures
and filling up numerous and numerous of forms.
(the i n d i a immigration is uber strict!)

maranatha home is a complete contrast to symrna home. it's small. dark. crowded yet strangely cosy.
have a talk with pastor george and the following was madness and chaos.
the boys turned into small little energy balls which made us pant and shout like mad.
camwhoring. cheering. singing. dancing. jumping and all the other rahrahing!
that was the start of all chaos. i bet the boys had fun. i bet the boys in my team had fun too.

dinner at the market area. THERE WAS FINALLY MEAT!!
chicken. mutton. fish! :D plainly satisfying (as of then until you see the menu repeats itself)

debrief-ed. ((:

;
i've gotta go! it's training time! )):
